John Ashcroft’s ‘Never Again’
Wednesday, June 11th, 2008I just recently picked up a copy of John Ashcroft’s ‘Never Again’. It has some very interesting passages in it. Here’s one which all 9/11 conspiracy proponents will appreciate.
“Early Wednesday morning, September 12 [2001], I joined the president at the White House along with other “principals”, top-level officials cleared to handle our nation’s most sensitive intelligence matters. We were assessing damages, reviewing our situation and plans when President Bush abruptly stopped, turned, and looked toward me. “Don’t ever let this happen again”, the president said. Whether he intended the remark for anyone else in the room at the time, I don’t know. But I took it personally.”
Hmmmm……sounds to me as if President Bush was looking for a scapegoat for 9/11 from the very beginning. Well, it figures…..the son-of-a BLEEP!
And try this one on for size:
“FBI director Mueller recalls, “No longer could we look at terrorism as a matter of law enforcement. We made a conscious shift from spending so much time at the crime scene and trying to bring people to justice - the nineteen terrorists were already dead - to thinking, gathering facts, and understanding everything we could in terms of preventing the next terrorist attack.”
Ok, so let me get this straight. The director of the FBI said at the time that “the nineteen terrorists were already dead”. Really? I find that difficult to believe. See this web page.
And why did the FBI make this “shift…to thinking, gathering facts, and understanding everything we could in terms of preventing the next terrorist attack” rather than thinking, gathering facts, and understanding everything we could in terms of preventing the next terrorist attack and thinking, gathering the facts and understanding everything they could about how the world trade center buildings actually came down?
