This is the last will and testament of me Paul Harris of the Parish of Witney in the County of Oxford, gentleman, made this tenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six as follows: In the first place, I direct all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid out of my personal estate by my executor and executrix hereinafter named. I give and devise unto my nephew Christopher Harris All that my copyhold messuage or tenement now in his occupation with the outbuildings, yards, garden and appurtenances whatsoever thereto belonging which I purchased of W. Knapp situate at Great Farringdon in the County of Berks to hold unto my said nephew Christopher Harris his heirs and assigns forever according to the custom of the Manor under which the same are holden I give and devise unto my beloved wife Lettice Harris all that my copyhold messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell situate and being in West End in the Hamlet of Hailey in the Parish of Witney aforesaid with the outbuildings, shops, yard, garden and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging and also all those my two copyhold cottages with the gardens and appurtenances thereto respectively belonging situate and adjoining my said dwelling house and now or late in the respective occupations of Thomas Harris and John Davis and also all that my copyhold inclosed ground called Picked Piece or close lying and being near Berrycroft in Hailey aforesaid and also all that my new allotment of land adjoining thereto allotted to me under the Hailey allotment and inclosure act The said close and allotment containing together about two acres and a half more or less and also all those my two copyhold cottages or tenements, gardens, and premises with their respective appurtenances situate at Delly Pool Hill in the Hamlet of Hailey aforesaid now or late in the respective occupations of Robert Lardner and Enos Buckingham And also all that my copyhold Farm House with the outbuildings, barns, stables, courts, yards, gardens and copyhold close thereto

adjoining, situate, lying and being in Hailey aforesaid late in the occupation of William Addison but now of my brother Daniel Harris and also All those my two freehold closes adjoining to the said described premises also in the occupation of the said Daniel Harris and all that my copyhold messuage or tenement with the Bake house, outbuildings, yard, garden and appurtenances belonging in West End aforesaid in the occupation of my brother Samuel Harris and which I lately purchased of Harry Simpson To hold to my said wife and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease I give and devise my said messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell with the outbuildings, shops, yard, garden and appurtenances thereto belonging unto my brother Thomas Harris his heirs and assigns forever and from and immediately after my said wife's decease as aforesaid I give and devise my said two copyhold cottages with the gardens and appurtenances thereto respectively belonging situate and adjoining my said dwelling house unto James Rose of Bampton in the said County of Oxford, Gentleman, and my brother William Harris and their heirs Upon trust to permit and suffer my niece Caroline Harris (now living with Mr. Joseph Green) to occupy and enjoy the same for her life and from and immediately after her decease I give and devise the same cottages and appurtenances to the right heirs of the said Caroline Harris for ever and from and immediately after my said wife's decease as aforesaid I give and devise my said inclosed ground called Picked Piece or Close and my said new allotment adjoining thereto unto my hephew Solomon Harris (son of my brother William) his heirs and assigns for ever and upon my said wife's decease as aforesaid I give and devise my said two cottages or tenements, gardens, and premises with their respective appurtenances situate at Delly Pool Hill in the Hamlet of Hailey aforesaid unto my nephew David Harris (son of my brother Daniel) his

heirs and assigns for ever and from and immediately after my said wife's decease as aforesaid I give and devise all that my said copyhold Farm House with the buildings, barns, stables, courts, yards, gardens and copyhold close with all appurtenances belonging and also all those my said two freehold closes adjoining to the said last described premises in the occupation of the said Daniel Harris unto my said brother Daniel Harris his heirs and assigns for ever and from and immediately after my said wife's decease I give and devise all that my said copyhold messuage or tenement with the bake house, outbuildings, yard, garden and appurtenances belonging in West End aforesaid in the occupation of the said Samuel Harris unto my said brother Samuel Harris his heirs and assigns for ever and I do hereby order and direct that the said several and respective devises to the said devisees in remainder shall be vested interests in them respectively at the time of my decease. As to all and singular my Household furniture, plate, linen, china, printed books and otherwise usually denominated or considered in the nature of furniture I give absolutely to my said wife. I give and bequeath to my said wife six hundred pounds to be paid her immediately upon my decease and bequeath to my brother Samuel Harris two hundred pounds, to my brother William three hundred pounds, to my brother in Law John Webb two hundred pounds, to my nephew James Fawdry one hundred pounds, to my nephew George Fawdry one hundred pounds, to my nephew Joseph Fawdry fifty pounds and to my niece Sarah Wright fifty pounds (and her receipt alone to be a sufficient receipt and discharge for the same notwithstanding her coverture) to my nephew Isaac Harris one hundred pounds and to each of the children of my late brother John Harris deceased viz George, John, Samuel, and Henry the sum of fifty pounds apiece all which said Legacies except my said Wife's to be paid within one year after my decease but to be considered vested interests in them respectively from the time of my death and on no

account or pretence whatsover shall any abatement be made from my said wife's Legacy should it so happen ther may not be sufficient to pay all the said Legatees in full an event not anticipated by me but in such case all the other Legatees shall abate in proportion to their respective Legacies. As to all the rest-residue and remainder of my Personal Estate not before disposed of I give unto and equally between my said wife and brother William equally share and share alike as near as may be and I nominate, constitute, and appoint the said James Rose and my said wife joint-executor and executrix of this my will Provided always and I decalre that my said Executor and Executrix and the survivor of them and the heirs, Executors and Administrators of such survivor shall not be answereable or accountable the one for the other of them but each of them for himself and herself only and respectively and for his, her and their own resective acts, neglects, receipts and defaults and hereby revoke all former wills by me made and decalre this only to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I the said Paul Harris the Testator have to this my last will and testament contained in four sheets of paper set my hand and seal (to wit) my hand to the three preceding sheets and my hand and seal to this last sheet the day and year first above written.

The writing contained in this and the three preceding sheets of paper was signed, sealed and published and decalred by the above named Paul Harris the Testator as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other hereunto subscribe our names as witnesses.

James Rose of Bampton in the County of Oxford, Gentleman, the sole surviving executor in this Will named was sworn to the truth thereof and as usual and that the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds.

Executor's Oath
YOU swear that the contents of the Affidavit hereto annexed, and to which you have subscribed your name, are true, to the best of your knowledge and belief; and that the Paper Writing, also hereto annexed, doth in it contain the true original last Will and Testament of Paul Harris, late of the parish of Witney in the County of Oxford, Gentleman, deceased, as far as you know or believe; that you are the only Executor therein named; that you will duly execute and perform the same, and pay his debts and legacies, as forth as his goods, chattels, and credits will thereto extend, and the law bind you; and that you will make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singula the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to your hands, possession, or knowledge, and exhibit the same into the Registry of the Archdeaconry of Oxford and pass a just and true account of your Executorship therupon, when thereto lawfully required; You also swear that the goods, chattels and creits of the said deceased are under the value of fifteen hundred Pounds. So Help You God. (Kiis the Book.)
At Bampton in the County of Oxford on the fourteenth day of March, 1845 the Oath above written was administered to James Rose of Bampton aforesaid the only surviving Executor named in the last Will and Testament of Paul Harris late of the Parish of Witney aforesaid hereunto annexed, and by him duly taken.

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Harris of Witney in the County of Oxford, miller, mealman and corn dealer, made this twentieth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine as follows: I give and bequeath unto my friend John Johnson of Newland in the parish of Witney aforesaid, Baker, and my wife Diana all my money, securities for money, household furniture, corn, grain, flour, hay, implements, stock in trade and effects, good will of business book and other debts and personal property whatsoever and wheresoever and all my real estate and chattels real if any and whatsoever and wheresoever situate with their appurtenances upon trust in the first place thereout to pay all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses and as to the residue thereof upon trust to stand posessed thereof for the purpose of carrying on my present business for the benefit of my said wife during her life or so long as the same be carried on to advantage or otherwise convert such part of my personal property as she may not require for her use into money and invest and pay her the interest thereof together with the rents and profits of my real estate if any during her life and upon her decease upon trust to pay to my daughter Diana the wife of Thomas Robinson the sum of fifty pounds free of legacy duty to be paid into her own proper hands entirely free from the control debts or engagements of her present or any future husband and for which said legacy her receipt notwithstanding her coverture shall be the only sufficient discharge and as to the clear residue of all my real and personal property whatsoever and wheresoever I give the same to my son Paul for his own absolute use and benefit. I appoint my said trustees joint Executor and Executrix of this my will and I declare that the one of them shall not be answerable for the other of them nor for involuntary losses nor for any banker, broker, or other person entrusted by them or in thier employ but each of them for himself and herself only and for his and her own acts, receipts, neglects and wilful defaults only. In witness whereof I the said William Harris the Testator have to this my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand the day and year first above written.
