Sarah A. Cushman
Mrs. Sarah Louise Cushman, wife of Oscar Cushman, died very suddenly Saturday morning at her home, 5 High street. For the past year she had suffered from an affection of the heart, and while sitting at breakfast with her family Saturday morning she fell from her chair and expired within a few minutes.
Mrs. Cushman was Miss Sarah Louise Van Ness, and was born at Boonville, Onieda County. She married for her second husband, Oscar Cushman, of Evans Mills, and has resided in this city for the past 20 years. She was a woman of remarkable energy and of the warmest sympathies for the afflicted. She has comforted many in their sorows, and no worthy cause of poverty or suffering ever came to her that she did not do something to alleviate the hardships of the unfortunate.
Mrs. Cushman is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Maude Cushman, of this city; a son, Rudolph C. Hall, of Antwerp, and three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Gladys Gillette of New York, Mrs. Frances H. Waters of Syracuse, Mrs. Harriet C. Eager of Thousand Ilsand Park, and Jackson A. Van Ness, of Columbus, O.
