Bojleton???
Our neighborhood was startled by the sudden death of Samuel Harris, who departed this life March 10, aged 72. Father Harris was born in Oxfordshire, Eng., April 2, 1812. He came to this country in 1841 and located on Point Peninsula, where he struggled on the stormy sea of life until 1863, when he removed to Canada. After a short stay of two ro three years, he returned to Point Peninsula. From there he came to Lorraine, where he spent the remaining part of his life, with the exception of a visit with his children in the west. The companion of his youth was laid away to rest thirteen years previous to his demise. He was the father of twelve children, ten of whom still survive him, while two have gone with their parents to the spirit land. Soon after he came to Lorraine he united with the Methodist Church, of which he remained a faithful member until transferred by a call from the Master from the church militatnt on earth to the church triumphant on theother side of the river. About a year and a half since I came among this people, and soon after formed the acquaintance of the deceased; as time passed and we became more intimately acquainted, the cord of sympathy that unites Christian hearts together grew stronger and he had a large place in my heart. He was always at his post ready to do all in his power to advance the Redeemer's kingdom. But his earth life is ended. He has fought the good fight, finished his course and heard the call of the Master, "It is enough, come up higher." And, although we mourn the loss of a father that was near and dear, a kind and obliging neighbor, a faithful member of the church, yet we mourn not as those who have no hope of a blessed reunionin that bright worl above. Many times we have heard him bear testimony to the saving power of the blood of Jesus that had been applied to his heart, and there always seemed to be a spirit with his testimony that echoed in the heart of every child of God. May heaven help the weeping ones to imitate Father Harris' Christian example, follow him as far as he followed Christ and make sure work for heaven. The funeral services were conducted by the writer in the school-house near his residence, and we laid all that was mortal of Samuel Harris away in the cemetery at Lorraine to rest until the resurection morn, where all the sleeping dead shall arise, and all the saints of God be gathered home.
E. H. Galloway.
