The body of John W. Fraley, aged 68, arrived from Charleston, So. Carolina, on Wednesday night, to be placed in St. Stephens receiving vault to await burial in the cemetery in spring. Mr. Fraley who had been in failing health for sometime, and during the past five weeks he underwent several serious operations in St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, So. Carolina, where he died on Monday morning January 1, at about 9:30. The funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at a Catholic Church in Charleston, with a large attendance, and three priests who had been former pastors of Mr. Fralleys home town church in Summerville, in the Sanctuary. Following the last rites the body was placed on the train, for the trip north. Mrs. Fraley accompanied the body to Croghan, and were met in Watertown, by the two daughters and husbands, and their uncle C.A. Burkhard, who also came to Croghan. Mr. Fraley was a native of Northern New York born in May 1871 and was married twice, the first wife died about 25 years ago in Chicago, from tis marriage there survive three daughters and one son, the eldest Rosalie, married in Chicago, Mrs. Stephen (Phylis) Burkhard and Mrs. Anselm (Marjie) Burkhard, both of Watertown, and John Fraley Jr. of Summerville, So. Car., and 10 grand children. Follwoing the death of his wife he with his children moved to Summerville, where he was head bookkeeper in the office of the Prettyman Lumber Co. where he was employed for 20 years, until his health failed, he retired for a time, until he recovered his health, he returned to the office again for a few years, and within past year was obliged to discontinue work. On April 5, 1920 ha married again, to Mrs. Rose Burkhard Besha of Croghan who survives, whose husband died in 1916 and continued to live in Summerville. There were no children to this union.

Philadelphia, N.Y. April 16
John Fraley, well known resident of Philadelphia, died at 4 Thursday afternoon at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Acheson in Main Street this village, following a long illness, aged 77 years, two months and seven days. Mr. Fraley had been in failing health during the past three years and had been critically ill during the past month.
The funeral will be held at 10 Monday morning from Philadelphia Catholic church. Rev. Father Hollis Burns, pastor of Lafargeville Catholic church, and former assistant at St. Patrick's church, Watertown, officiating. Interment will be in Carthage cemetery.
He was one of the older residents of this village and had resided here during the past 17 years. He moved from his farm on Galway street into a house which he purchased in Antwerp street where they resided 15 years. In October , 1918, he and his wife, on account of ill health moved from Antwerp street to the residence of their daughter, Mrs. Acheson, where he passed away Thursday afternoon.
Mr Fraley was born in the town of Cape Vincent, son of Jacob and Kathryn Slick Fraley, natives of Germany, Feb. 8, 1843. He married Miss Malinda Besha, Feb. 8, 1870. For 21 years they lived on a farm on Galway street in the town of Leray, New Evans MIlls, before moving to Philadelphia.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Malinda Besha Fraley, he leaves one son, John W. Fraley of Summerville, South Carolina; and three daughters, Mrs. Norman Timmermanof Lafargeville, MRs. Ernest Simmons of Carthage, and Mrs. Clarence Acheson of this village, with whom he made his home.
D.E. Gullfoyle of the Gullfoyle company, Watertown, has charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Fraley accompanied the body to Croghan, and were met in Watertown, by the two daughters and husbands, and their uncle C.A. Burkhard, who also came to Croghan. Mr. Fraley was a native of Northern New York born in May 1871 and was married twice, the first wife died about 25 years ago in Chicago, from tis marriage there survive three daughters and one son, the eldest Rosalie, married in Chicago, Mrs. Stephen (Phylis) Burkhard and Mrs. Anselm (Marjie) Burkhard, both of Watertown, and John Fraley Jr. of Summerville, So. Car., and 10 grand children. Follwoing the death of his wife he with his children moved to Summerville, where he was head bookkeeper in the office of the Prettyman Lumber Co. where he was employed for 20 years, until his health failed, he retired for a time, until he recovered his health, he returned to the office again for a few years, and within past year was obliged to discontinue work. On April 5, 1920 ha married again, to Mrs. Rose Burkhard Besha of Croghan who survives, whose husband died in 1916 and continued to live in Summerville. There were no children to this union.

JNO. FRALEY DIES AT PHILADELPHIA
Succombs after illness of three years.

Philadelphia, N.Y. April 16
John Fraley, well known resident of Philadelphia, died at 4 Thursday afternoon at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Acheson in Main Street this village, following a long illness, aged 77 years, two months and seven days. Mr. Fraley had been in failing health during the past three years and had been critically ill during the past month.
The funeral will be held at 10 Monday morning from Philadelphia Catholic church. Rev. Father Hollis Burns, pastor of Lafargeville Catholic church, and former assistant at St. Patrick's church, Watertown, officiating. Interment will be in Carthage cemetery.
He was one of the older residents of this village and had resided here during the past 17 years. He moved from his farm on Galway street into a house which he purchased in Antwerp street where they resided 15 years. In October , 1918, he and his wife, on account of ill health moved from Antwerp street to the residence of their daughter, Mrs. Acheson, where he passed away Thursday afternoon.
Mr Fraley was born in the town of Cape Vincent, son of Jacob and Kathryn Slick Fraley, natives of Germany, Feb. 8, 1843. He married Miss Malinda Besha, Feb. 8, 1870. For 21 years they lived on a farm on Galway street in the town of Leray, New Evans MIlls, before moving to Philadelphia.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Malinda Besha Fraley, he leaves one son, John W. Fraley of Summerville, South Carolina; and three daughters, Mrs. Norman Timmermanof Lafargeville, MRs. Ernest Simmons of Carthage, and Mrs. Clarence Acheson of this village, with whom he made his home.
D.E. Gullfoyle of the Gullfoyle company, Watertown, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
