George Slick, 82, Dies At His Home Last Thursday.
On Thursday, July 17, after a few days of severe illness, George Slick, a lifelong resident of the Town of Cape Vincent passed away at his home. Althought Mr. Slick had been in failing health for about a month, it was not until about three days before his death that he was confined to his bed. Death was attributed to hardening of the arteries and the infirmties of old age.
Mr Slick was born in this vicinity in 1859, a son of the late John and Margaret Mattis Slick. He married Miss Anna Wagoner, who died July 10, 1932. No children were born to the couple, but a nephew, William Brown, has made his home with them since he was a boy of about 13 years.
Mr. Slick is survived only by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul's church, Rosiere, of which Mr. Slick had long been a member. Rev. M. J. Kelly, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was made in the Rosiere cemetery.
