      Hi Paul,
I have been trying to straighten out my Hoover's and sometimes checkout your family pages, just to see if our information "matches". In searching for how Mate Hoover fits into the family I found an error in your pages.

Let me start at the beginning.

Mate Hoover married Charles Makepeace on 6/29/1892 (I have a copy of their marriage certificate). On that certificate Mate gives the info that her father is Samuel and her mother's maiden name is Omara.

In the 1880 Federal Census of NY, Jefferson, LeRay
Samuel and wife Catherine live with daughters Ann (14) and Matie (8), also with them are his mother Asen**. There is only one Mate/Matie anywhere, so this must be the family.

In the 1850 Federal Census Moses Hoover (41) and wife Asenath (34) have children Samuel (17) James H. (16) Cecil (12) Celia (12) this would make Moses born about 1809, which matches up with your info about Moses Huber married to A. with children Samuel C.
      C.
      L. or S. or E.
Arminda b. 1837. This Arminda was born to Moses and Margaret Hoover not Moses and Asenath. She is buried in Fairview Cemetery outside Little Falls, NY next to her second husband, George Christie.

by the way, as for Moses, You have siblings Lydia, Hiram, Sally, and Aaron, I have siblings Lydia, Reuben, and Aaron.
Reuben, b. 10/12/1817 and baptized on 11/23/1817 in the Protestant Dutch Reformed Church of Herkimer. page 85 of those records on file in the Herkimer County Historical Society.

I love your web pages, most of our info matches well. I have some you don't have, and you have some I don't have. I will publish mine soon, just a couple of glitches to correct.
