- Censuses over time
Until the 18th century
Population counts are done digitally or by fires (families). Lists of lights only give the name of the family head. Haute-Sa?ne: only a few isolated censuses.
1790 population of the states (available on this website)
It is found in series G (in the parish archives) and series H (archives of the regular clergy) population of the states of 1790. The lists give only the name of the head of household and the number of people per family. N.B. these lists exist only for 33 municipalities (listed in the pdf document available at the bottom of this page).
revolutionary period
A decree of 19-22 July 1791 organized a survey of the French population. As in previous censuses, lists give only the name of the head of household and the number of people per family.
ADHS rating: 13L1 - 13L2. Very few lists of names, most documents are digital.
1806 -1835
The documents relating to population censuses contain only numeric data. They do not contain lists of names. Cote ADHS 6M1-19
From 1836 to 1906, nominal lists (available on this website)
These documents are filed from the municipal archives (series E Depot).
N.B. All listings could not be retrieved. Therefore, they lack certain municipalities.
1906 - 1940 (new)

INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies)
lists of names available (original documents "paper") for the following censuses: 1946, 1954, 1962, 1968, 1975 (communicated on site in the reading room of the departmental archives).
