Text | Harry W. Webert of Watertown Died at 87 Harry W. Webert, 87, of 415 Brainard St., died early this morning at the House of the Good Samaritan. He had been a patient there since June 20. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Cronk, pastor of the Rutland Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Calling hours are 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Rutland Community Church Memorial Fund. Surviving are his wife, Lucy; a son, Alfred H., Brownville; four step-sons, Charles Allen, Watertown, Frederick Stackel and Douglas Stackel, both of Rutland and Paul Stackel, Germany; a daughter, Mrs. Arlene Gonino, Schenectady; two step-daughters, Mrs. Betty Murrock and Mrs. Rosalind West, both of Watertown; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Carl, Watertown, and Leo, Minnesota; a sister, Mrs. Louise Ganter, Watertown, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Ross F., and a sister Mrs. Grace Pound, died before him. Born in the Clayton area on Sept. 13, 1899, a son of Frank and Anna Schafer Webert, he married Ruth C. Eddy at Oswego June 1, 1924. The couple lived in the Town of Pamelia and operated a farm, for several years before her death Sept. 20, 1948. Mr. Webert retired from farming in 1941 and went to work as a carpenter for many years with his brother, Ross. On June 19, 1949, he married Mrs. Geneva Tebo Allen at the Dexter Methodist Church. She died April 21, 1964. Mr. Webert married Mrs. Lucy Staplin Randles Oct. 2, 1965 at the Rutland Congregational Church. He retired from carpentry in 1970. | |
