Text | Watertown Daily Times January 28, 1945 IRA J. BIGGERS AGED 59, DIES Ira J. Biggers, 59, of Lafarge-ville, R. D. 2, farmer, died at 8:50 this morning in the Mercy hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday night. Ill about a week, he underwent an operation for a gall bladder ailment Wednesday. Mr. Biggers resided at Barlow's Corners, near Orleans Four Corners, about seven miles from La-fargeville. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Florence Montondo Biggers; a daughter, Mrs. Edgar ( Hazel) Smith, near Lafargeville; a grandson, Donald Smith, near Lafargeville; three brothers, Burton Biggers, Alexandria Bay, Arthur Biggers, Brownville, and George Biggers, whose address is unknown, and a sister, Mrs. James (Anna) Stewart, Antwerp. Mr. Biggers was a member of the Lafargeville grange and Lafargeville Methodist church and a former member of the Lafargeville Lodge of Odd Fellows. He was born in the town of Theresa, near Theresa, March 20, 1885, a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. John Biggers. Most of his life was spent in the town of Orleans. He married Miss Florence Montondo of the town of Theresa on Sept. 19, 1912, at Ogdensburg. | |
