Dear Mr. Kelly;
You and I are related through Harpet Van Brocklin. His father was
Sander (Alexander) Van Brocklin, and his mother was engeltie Van
Deusen. His wife was Anna Backus, or Annyte, and they had seven
children. Alexander Harpet Van Brackelen, born December 21, 1787,
married May 18, 1813 to Catherine Knoll. Abram H. Van Brocklin, born
October 1, 1788, died March 21 1852. John Van Brocklin born September
15, 1791, married May 15, 1815 to Laney Starling (Magdalena Storring).
Nicholas Van Brocklin, (no further data). Barbara Van Brocklin, (no
further data). Beautus Van Brocklin, born August 20, 1789. Gerrut Van
Brocklin, (no further data).
There is further data on the whole Van Brocklin family. If you notice
the difference in name spellings, it is because the name started out as
Van Brakel, then Van Brakelin, then Van Brocklin. They originated in
the province of Utrecht in the Netherlands, and have a beautiful family
crest.
