    In Jefferson Common Pleas
    of September Term 1831

    I John Fitzpatrick being duly sworn saith that he is a native of Ireland & lately owing allegiance to the King of Great Britian age 32 years that he came to the United States of America in the year 1820 & has resided for more than five years next preceding this time _____ & under the jurisdiction of the United States & that it has been his bonafide intention for more than 3 years past to renounce and forever abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince potentate state or sovereignty whatever particularly that he would renounce and abjure forever all allegiance & fidelity to the King of Great Britian and become a citizen of the United States of America & further saith not.

    Lawrence Jones & John D. Hammond, citizens of the United States being duly sworn do depose & say & each for himself doth depose & say that he has been personally acquainted with John Fitzpatrick above named for more than five years next preceding this time?? & that during that time he has resided at Wilna in the county and state aforesaid and _____& under the jusisdiction of the United States
    has behaved himself as a man of good moral character attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States & well disposed to the good order & happiness of the same & further saith not.

    I John Fitzpatrick do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States & that I do hereby absolutely & entirely renounce & abjure forever all allegiance & fidelity to any foreign prince potentate State or sovereignty whatever & particularly that I do renounce all allegiance & fidelity to the King of Great Britian to whom I have been a subject.
