    Mr. George W. Ryan,
    Sec. B. P. O. Elks,
    142 Arcade St.,
    Watertown, N. Y.

    Dear Brother Ryan:

As instructed by our undertaker, we shipped Brother Sixbery's body and I am enclosing a bill amounting to $90 for the undertaker's services here, including casket and embalming and you may either send a check to me or to the undertaker, returning the bill so we can have it receipted and returned to you.

I am enclosing a meal ticket which Brother Sixbery evidently had when he was in Watertown and which I thought someone might use.

I found among Brother Sixbery's effects a little note which he had written in 1937, telling us to turn over to his brother Frank E. Sixbery, Black River, New York all of his effects, including clothing and etc. These effects are of little value and I doubt whether Frank Sixbery would want to pay the express on the shipment, however, we will do whatever you say is best in the matter as we are stillholding the effects in our storeroom.
With every good wish, I am
    Sincerely yours,

    SUPERINTENDENT
    ELKS NATIONAL HOME

    • I think this is a carbon copy of the typed letter, since the letter is not signed.
The initials "RAS" at the bottom of the letter indicate that the letter was written by R. A. Scott, whose name appears on the letterhead of the paper containing the "Will" written by Charles W. Sixbery, May 24, 1937. R. A. Scott was the Superintendent at the time, according to the letterhead.
